For those crunching numbers, that gearing added about three gear inches to her 36 x 19t 2019 setup (58.38 vs. 55.31). She mentioned suffering on this stout gear early on in the race as she tackled the steep sections in Montana and Wyoming. However, she settled into it and eventually passed her record pace and stayed ahead of it for the second half of the race.
